Shireland CLC delivers national and local authority priorities agreed in an Annual Performance Agreement. The APA ensures that the use of technology supports school improvement and the development of an education and skills system, which is fit for the 21st century and engages and excites children and young people.

APA Objectives: -

• To support schools to improve their use of technology through the promotion of rigorous self-review including the self-review framework and Next Generation Learning Charter by providing support for leaders in schools

• Promote the use of technology within the Foundation and Primary curriculum, in particular as outlined in the Independent Review of the Primary Curriculum

• Promote the use of technology within KS3 & KS4 with a focus on increasing the proportion of learners progressing by at least 3 levels from the end of KS2 to the end of KS4 in English and Mathematics

• Support teachers and others to make effective use of technology within 14-19 curriculum

• Promote the use of technology to improve outcomes for learners with Special Educational Needs and/or English as an additional language

• Support schools in using learning platforms to extend learning & improve outcomes for learners

• Support teachers in the safe use of technology and promote the e-safety agenda

• Support local authorities visioning, planning and management of change for Building Schools for the Future and Primary Capital Programmes

• Research, develop and trial emerging educational technologies and support teachers in the implementation of emerging educational technologies.
